The Kelabit tour guides are part of a select and experienced team of guides who are familiar with both the area and the jungle environment.  They are all experienced in taking groups overnight into the jungle and ensuring both your safety and that you reach your goal.

We ask that when you visit Bario that you engage one of these guides as doing so helps both the community and provides work for the people involved.  Indeed, the rates charged are very reasonable and in addition, they can also arrange for porters to caryy your equipment and gear should you wish to make your trek or walk a little more comfortable.

The guides, both men and women, speak very good English and in most cases Bahasa Malay too.  So you should have no trouble communicating and ensuring you find out the most on your exciting trip.
